In terms of future policy in social media I believe there should be more regulation. There should be restrictions towards certain websites certain age groups should visit and sites that no one should visit at all. I believe there should be a limit to how many pictures should be uploaded on an account and I believe certain filters should be available to block adult content. In terms of whether or not we should break up tech companies, I must say I do not too much regarding what they are up to in the grand scheme of things, I do know that these platforms are designed to be addictive. Social Media was designed to be addictive. I would be in all favor of just banning it completely, however that would not be feasible in this day and age. All I can root for is any policy that would help cut usage amongst people of all age groups. What started out as a concern towards teenage people, it is now common amongst older generations that have not grown up with it as well. I myself fall victim to social media use as well. However, after much thought and time, I have decided I must do something in order to minimize my usage as much as possible. This does not only apply to social media, but my smart phone as well. I have already removed Instagram and Facebook off my phone and deleted the accounts. Although other addictions have been created such as youtube and reddit. This proves that these apps were created to be addictive. Yes, Youtube is Social Media. My best option is to take as much time off as my phone daily. Even create one day a week where I do not use it at all. What can be done to improve safety, accessibility, concerns related to social justice is create stricter guidelines as to what can be said or the type of language being used on certain websites. Although I do believe there is not much that can be done to improve social justice and human rights online as I personally believe there is enough to be done regarding that matter. In terms of using social media to speak about social justice, I do use reddit for that and I will continue to use reddit. Everything else is irrelevant in that matter. So I will attempt to only use reddit a few times a week and thankfully delete everything else.Overall Social Media is definetly useful in improving social justice. There is a thing called information overload. Too much information is not healthy and can cause anxiety and depression amongst all age groups.
